It's the small things that countI noticed so many things just by the first few days, but the longer I spent, the smaller things opened my mind so much. How so? Money.
Money definitely is different here. In America, I've seen a lot of people simply waste their money on unnecessary things. Here in Europe, money is used wisely and practically. They only buy what they need when they need to and not out of impulse. Very thrifty! The fact that they use their money only when needed is definitely a mindset that Americans should have. Also, I noticed that Europeans ARE NOT embarrassed to use coins. Coins are very helpful when buying tickets for the trains and public transportation, but it also makes up most of the expenses. Paying 2 euros with one coin was much easier than back in America where I had to count so many different pieces of change just to get $2. Back On My FeetI am so happy to have gotten over a week's worth of a horrible flu. Bed ridden, I had to stay in quite a bit due to the on and off rain plus my condition. To be honest, I didn't get to do much and very crunched on time because I was leaving for Munich. And let's not forget, I totally was lost. I think I was so tired and didn't function properly, that I ended up thinking I was where I was suppose to be when in fact I was still far from my destination. Berlin central station is completely different from the Berlin central BUS station. Great job me, you totally knew what you were doing. From first living like a local to observing every little thing like a local, you pick up on a lot of things. What I noticed the most?
Health ConditionI do wish to apologize to everyone for my lack of blogging about Berlin. I have found myself bed ridden due to the flu for the past 3 days now. But I'm slowly recovering (thank god). Although it does hurt to get up and such, I had to force myself to grab something small to eat and coffee. Don't worry though, I will make it up to you all. But for now I'll stay in and rest. Danke!Hi everyone! Omg, I cannot lie. I am sooooooo jet lagged! I literally slept the min I got here and I do apologize for not updating so soon. But now I can show you all to my apartment that I'm staying in and what i was able to do today. RodenbergstraßeCheck out all of the crazy cool art I found myself in! The room or should I say flat, is amazingly very affordable and prices here in Berlin are no where near expensive. Living Like a localSo I woke up a bit late today, 9 am here. Got a call from my family back home in Long Beach, CA to FaceTime because they wanted to see and know how I was doing.
It's so weird doing things alone haha! Climbing down the steep rocks of the Antelope Canyons, I found a beauty worth much more than the greenery above ground. "Traveling - leaves you speechless, then it turns you into a storyteller." - Ibn Battuta
Traveling is definitely a blessing. I can say it is life's best luxury to offer. Many say you need a lot of money to travel, but I believe that a strong will and desire is the most appropriate drive. Feeling Hungry?Check out the St. Lawrence Market. It's full of great food to eat whether you want a big meal or a small sandwich to grub. Plus, it's got some neat souvenirs. Maple anyone? Yeah, LOTS N LOTS of maple syrup.
